I am a Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Zambia, passionate about leveraging spatial analysis, geo-AI, and remote sensing to address complex challenges in disaster management, climate change, and urban planning for sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With over 16 years of experience in geomatics engineering, project management, research, teaching, and consultancy, my academic journey began at the University of Zambia, where I earned a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Geomatics Engineering. I further pursued a Post-Graduate International Diploma in Project Management from Cambridge University, UK, and an MSc and PhD in Geomatics Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, T\u00fcrkiye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My career spans diverse roles in telecommunications, national projects, and consultancy. In academia, I have served as Acting Assistant Dean (Research) in the School of Engineering and currently contribute as a Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Zambia. My research focuses on geospatial technologies, spatial data sciences and analytics, geo-AI, remote sensing, UAV\/drone photogrammetry, urban planning, climate mitigation and adaptation, and disaster and risk management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I have authored over 20 international research publications, significantly contributing to these fields. Additionally, I serve as a technical advisor to Zambia’s Ad Hoc Parliamentary Committees, providing expertise for sustainable development initiatives. My commitment to leveraging data and technology for social impact is exemplified by a recent grant awarded for a research project on using Artificial Intelligence for Forestry Ecosystem Monitoring and Management in Zambia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
